Summary of Primary Job Functions

The Opportunity:
The Consultant role is a vital role within the Enterprise Services Consulting Services Line, typically engaging with our most strategic customers as project leaders, engagement resource coordinators and Enterprise/Partner Program Managers. As such, they may be engaged over several projects in multiple accounts and are held accountable for maintaining a high degree of information coordination between Microsoft Services, Enterprise Sales and Premier Support resources. Key measurements for success will be how well the Consultant develops effective, long-term relationships with technical decision makers; drives integration of Microsoft Partners into projects and with customers; and the ability to lead large projects through the engagement life cycle.

Responsibilities:
Consultants are expected to contribute significant value to the Enterprise Sales account planning process and must be highly knowledgeable on account strategies to effectively leverage their consulting contributions and subject matter expertise. Continuous focus on skill enhancement driving deep technical knowledge and a broad range of consulting skills are key elements of the role. Detail oriented and able to effectively prioritize, the Senior Consultant must be capable of addressing all aspects of an engagement.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree or equivalent work experience combined with a minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in technical consulting in Enterprise environments. The candidate should be highly credible with demonstrable ability to engage as a trusted advisor to senior IS and business management on emerging Microsoft technologies and how best to exploit them for business advantage. Consultants should carry current Microsoft Certifications and must possess strong business development skills and proven hands-on project experience with Microsoft's infrastructure tools and technologies. An understanding of and leadership in application of Microsoft Solution Framework or similar frameworks/methodologies is necessary, as well as a good working knowledge of Enterprise Application Architecture and/or Enterprise Program Management.

Proven hands-on project experience with Microsoft’s infrastructure platform and technologies including depth in 3 or more of the following areas:
• Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 Infrastructure Design and Architecture.
• Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 desktop engineering & deployment • Active Directory including Directory Services (AD DS), Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS), Certificate Services (AD CS), Rights Management Services (AD RMS) and Federation Services (AD FS) design and architecture • Forefront Identity Manager • Knowledge of Exchange 2003, Design and Architecture of Exchange Server 2007/2010, including coexistence.

Key requirements and activities in this role include:
Must have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Enterprise software sales, enterprise consulting or an equivalent and a track record of exceeding revenue and corporate goals.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5-7 years’ experience with securing Active Directory and Microsoft platform products including the Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Operating System.
The successful candidate will also have experience with the evaluation, design, and upgrading of several technologies used to create, manage, update, monitor, and report on Windows desktop configurations. Must have significant work experience involving technical consulting, systems development, and systems deployment.
Must have a proven record of delivering business value.
Candidates must have a deep understanding of markets, government customers, and technology; have the background to provide leadership in the practice and a demonstrated effectiveness in consulting and client management.
Candidates must have deep understanding of US Government customer and partner business and IT environment, and have demonstrated skills creating architecture and deploying technology to solve business problems.
Candidates must have industry leading depth knowledge of subject area, and have demonstrated analysis and communication skills connecting technology and business problems.
Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, and Exchange Server 2003/2007 experience is a must have.

Basic Qualifications:
Strong experience with integration of security services, including authentication, authorization, encryption and audit capabilities as part of an overall system design.
Experience performing technical security risk assessments with demonstrable design and auditing experience.
Polished and professional oral and written skills; experienced facilitator and briefer desired.
Strong knowledge of the information Security domains, especially Security Architecture and Design, Risk Management, Application Security, Cryptography, Network Security and Access Control techniques.
Knowledge and understanding of OCS, SCCM, SCOM is desirable.
